Clinton & Whiteside Counties Will Hit the Bowling Lanes to Support the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon During Their 70th Anniversary!

On Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th, community members will lace up their bowling shoes to participate in the annual Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon. 32 teams of 5 bowlers each, representing more than 18 different companies and organizations, are signed up to support Junior Achievement. The JA Bowl-A-Thon is the organization’s largest fundraiser, taking place in five communities throughout Junior Achievement of the Heartland’s 24 counties in February and March. The event is estimated to raise more than $150,000 to help support JA learning experiences offered in local schools.

This year’s JA Bowl-A-Thon is especially meaningful as Junior Achievement of the Heartland celebrates its 70th anniversary, marking seven decades of preparing young people for success in school, work, and life
The JA Bowl-A-Thon will be held at DeWitt Lanes in DeWitt, IA and Plaza Bowl in Clinton, IA on with shifts from 5:30pm on March 6th – 4:00pm on March 7th. The cost is $375 per team.

Junior Achievement equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve economic mobility, take ownership of their financial future, and make informed academic and fiscal decisions. By partnering with local educators and the business community, JA prepares students for life after graduation through hands-on learning experiences focused on financial literacy, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Through community-driven fundraisers like this, Junior Achievement is able to provide impactful programs to nearly 58,000 kindergarten through high school students across the 24-county area, enriching their educational experiences. JA is still looking for over 60 volunteers for classes this spring semester. Follow this link to see what classes are available - https://heartland.ja.org/volunteer/class-listing.

A special thanks to the event sponsors CBI Bank & Trust, HNI Corporation, GreenState Credit Union, WHBF CBS4, KWQC, and Sethness Roquette.
