River City Municipal Band Begins its 36th Summer Season with Rehearsals Starting Monday, May 6

The River City Municipal Band (RCMB) begins its 35th summer season with band rehearsals starting Monday, May 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Clinton Middle School band room.  The band will rehearse weekly on Mondays, with the season running through July 27.

All area musicians are invited to come join the volunteer community band.  All ages and abilities are welcome and there are no auditions.  Simply bring your instrument and show up.  An exterior door to the band room is visible from the parking lot.

The band is conducted by Patrick Brooks, band director at Clinton High School. He will lead the band in a variety of music including patriotic fare, Broadway songs, movie and television music, and traditional concert pieces.

The mission of the RCMB is to bring live music to the people and events of the River City area.  The band will perform seven times this summer, including new concert venues at the Lyons Farmers Market, and in Camanche.  All performances are free and open to the public.

            Saturday, June 15, 12 Noon – Felix Adler Day at Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center
           
            Monday, June 24, 6:30 p.m. – Clinton Community College Auditorium
           
            Thursday, July 4, 1 p.m. – Clinton 4th of July Parade
           
            Wednesday, July 10, 5:30 p.m. -- Farmer’s Market Music in Lyons Gazebo
           
            Monday, July 15, 6:30 p.m. – Eagle Point Park Lodge Concert Hosted by Mayor Scott Maddasion
           
            Saturday, July 27, 1 p.m. – Ice Cream Social at Camanche Historical Museum
